Search for “deep house cleaning cost” and you will usually get a range too wide to budget from. So this guide does something more useful: it prices three realistic jobs in and around Prague. These are worked examples, not binding quotes. I use CZK 450 per labour hour, assume basic supplies are included, and show transport or parking separately. The final price will still depend on the home, the agreed scope and the provider’s terms.
What counts as deep cleaning here
Routine cleaning keeps a home ticking over. Floors are vacuumed and mopped, accessible surfaces are dusted, and the bathroom and kitchen worktops are cleaned. A deep clean reaches the details that are usually skipped: skirting boards, doors, handles, switches, high edges, grease around the hob, limescale, grout and accessible areas beneath furniture.
That still does not mean every possible task is included. For the examples below, the base scope covers:
- vacuuming and mopping, including reachable corners;
- a thorough bathroom and toilet clean;
- degreasing the outside of kitchen units and appliances;
- dusting reachable shelves, doors, switches and skirting boards;
- mirrors, rubbish removal and final detail work.
Interior oven cleaning, the inside of the fridge, windows, blinds and cupboard interiors are optional extras. So are machine-cleaned carpets, sofa extraction and balcony cleaning. List them separately when asking for a house cleaning estimate. “Everything” is not a reliable scope.
Post-renovation cleaning is a different service. Fine building dust settles again after the first wipe, while paint, adhesive and protective film may need specialist work. It should not be priced as a standard one-time house cleaning cost based only on floor area.
Model 1: a studio after normal use
Take a 30 m² studio in Prague 3. One person lives there. The bathroom has a shower, the compact kitchen is used every day, and the flat has not been neglected. A few open shelves hold everyday belongings, but the floors and worktops are accessible.
| Item | Estimate | |---|---:| | 1 cleaner for 5 hours | CZK 2,250 | | Travel and parking | CZK 350 | | Worked total | CZK 2,600 |
Five hours can sound excessive for such a small flat. In practice, limescale in the shower and grease around a frequently used hob can take two hours between them. The remaining time goes into doors, edges, skirting, dust and floors. Small jobs may also be subject to a minimum call-out charge. A cleaner still has to cross Prague, prepare the kit and wash the cloths afterwards.
Add two standard windows and a balcony door, including frames and sills, and the deep cleaning price may rise by about CZK 900 to CZK 1,300. This studio would then come to roughly CZK 3,500 to CZK 3,900.
Clutter is the quiet time sink. Ten bottles on a bathroom shelf, plants on the windowsill and a crowded kitchen counter all have to be moved, cleaned around and replaced. The same studio with clear surfaces could take an hour less.
Model 2: a one-bedroom flat with children or a pet
Now picture a 58 m² one-bedroom flat in Holešovice. Two adults, one small child and a dog live there. It does not look especially dirty. Yet pet hair has worked into the sofa, fingerprints cover the lower part of the doors, dried splashes mark the kitchen, and crumbs have travelled well beyond the dining table.
This is a sensible two-person job. Not because two cleaners automatically cost less, but because the work divides cleanly: one can handle the kitchen and bathroom while the other works through living areas, touchpoints and floors. Two cleaners for 4.5 hours equals nine labour hours, not 4.5.
| Item | Estimate | |---|---:| | 2 cleaners × 4.5 hours | CZK 4,050 | | Travel, parking and equipment handling | CZK 450 | | Base worked total | CZK 4,500 | | Oven interior | +CZK 600 | | Fridge interior | +CZK 400 | | Windows and frames | +CZK 1,300 | | Expanded option | CZK 6,800 |
I once saw a job described as “a normal flat, just a little dog hair”. The wide photo did not show the hair packed into the sofa seams and around an awkward pet bed. That small detail changed the time, even though the apartment deep cleaning cost was being discussed as if square metres told the whole story.
If the budget stops at CZK 4,500, reduce the scope. Skip the windows and fridge this time, but keep the bathroom, kitchen, floors and pet-hair areas thorough. Rushing through every room tends to leave the important zones half-finished.
Model 3: a family house before guests or a celebration
A 145 m² family house outside Prague changes the calculation. Before a celebration, guests usually see the entrance, kitchen, living and dining areas, main bathroom and guest toilet. The home office, spare bedroom or upstairs playroom may not matter that day.
Split the house into zones:
- A - guest-facing: entrance, kitchen, living room, dining space, stairs, two toilets and the main bathroom;
- B - secondary: bedrooms, office, second bathroom, utility room and rooms that are rarely used.
For zone A, allow two cleaners for seven hours, or 14 labour hours. I would also allow more for logistics. Vacuums, buckets and products have to move between floors, and several bathrooms mean repeated setup.
| Item | Estimate | |---|---:| | 2 cleaners × 7 hours | CZK 6,300 | | Travel and on-site logistics | CZK 600 | | Guest-facing zones total | CZK 6,900 | | Second visit for secondary zones, 8 labour hours | +CZK 3,600 | | Windows in shared areas | +CZK 2,000 to CZK 2,800 |
The complete house with those windows could therefore reach CZK 12,500 to CZK 13,300. Keep the job to the spaces guests will use and the number stays close to CZK 6,900. That difference comes from scope, not from someone inventing a higher hourly rate.
If the whole job will run beyond one long day, stage it. Clean bathrooms, the kitchen and secondary rooms on Thursday, then finish the living area and floors on Friday. Mopping first and carrying equipment across the floor afterwards makes no sense.
Five items that change the final price most often
1. Soil level
Fresh fingerprints are quick. Old extractor grease is not. Light limescale around a tap differs from a shower screen and grout that have built up deposits for months. Close-up photos are more useful than saying the home is “fairly clean”.
2. Clutter and access
Clear floors and worktops save time. Boxes under beds, plants blocking windows and crowded bathroom shelves add handling. Mention high ceilings, heavy furniture and windows that require steps or specialist access.
3. Travel and parking
A flat in Prague 1 can have the same floor area as one at the edge of the city, but parking and carrying equipment may take longer. Ask whether the quoted apartment deep cleaning cost includes travel and parking fees.
4. Equipment and products
Some cleaners bring everything. Others expect to use your vacuum and mop. Carpet extraction and floor machines normally cost extra. Tell the provider about natural stone, oiled timber or any surface that needs a specific product.
5. Extra tasks
An oven priced in advance is not a surprise charge. An oven omitted from the request and expected to fit into the same four hours is a surprise for both sides. The same applies to blinds, balconies, cupboard interiors, laundry and a sink full of dishes.
Floor area is useful, but it cannot determine the final deep house cleaning cost. Two 60 m² homes might require six and eleven labour hours.
How to request estimates you can actually compare
Send every provider the same information. Use eight to twelve current photos: wide room views, the kitchen, bathroom, windows and any difficult details. Add the layout, approximate floor area, number of bathrooms, floor level, lift access and parking situation.
Divide the task list into two groups:
- must be completed: perhaps the bathroom, kitchen, floors, dust and pet hair on the sofa;
- if the budget allows: windows, oven, fridge and balcony.
For every quote, check the total or spending cap, estimated labour hours, team size, travel, supplies and the conditions for extras. An hourly rate without a time estimate is not comparable. A fixed price without a task list is not comparable either.
For broader context, see CistýKout’s 2026 guide to apartment cleaning prices in Prague and its separate window-cleaning cost guide. Keep the scope and photo set identical when requesting quotes.
If you want prices for your actual home, post a no-obligation cleaning request through Čistýkout. Čistýkout is Prague-based, and a specific brief will make it much easier for providers to give you a useful number instead of guessing.
